Comparing pre-hospital transfusion of whole blood versus standard blood products for traumatic haemorrhage

Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria:

All patients will be recruited by the pre-hospital team and treatment will have started before arrival. Patients already in the ED are not eligible for the study.

Exclusion Criteria:

This will be handled by the prehospital team.

Step by Step Guide to Recruitment:

Not applicable. ED staff will not be involved in recruiting patients.
However, we need continue the transfusion and to gather data for the study, so informing the research team of an arrival will be important.

Research team will carry out:

• data collection following arrival
• Informed consent
• Safety reporting
• Monitoring

Important notes

• Patients enrolled to SWIFT cannot be enrolled into TAP
