Comparing cast versus removable splint for adults with a distal radius fracture that does not require manipulation

in normal working hours Monday to Friday
Recruitment out of hours and at weekends:
  1. Using an ipad or smartphone access the following website: The DRAFT3-CASP Study (digitrial.com)
  2. Click on ‘Patient Information Site’ link to open the patient information page in a new tab. Allow the patient to read through it or view the video
  3. Go back to the homepage on the previous tab (or use the same link above again to re-open) and click ‘Enrol a new patient’
  4. Complete the questionnaires with the patient
  5. **Please note that the first set of questionnaires aims to assess the patient’s level of ability PRIOR to the injury**

  6. Once all the necessary data has been captured you will then be given the treatment allocation
  7. Document this decision in the notes using either of the following Smartphrases - .DRAFT3CAST or .DRAFT3SPLINT
  8. Provide the patient with a Rehab Booklet or ask the Research Team to do this retrospectively via e-mail
  9. Inform the clinician looking after the patient if this is not you
  10. Send the ED Research Team an EPIC message with the patients details attached, and the team will pick it up the following day
